Our Nutrition Programs
🌈Eat The Rainbow Program
We’re thrilled to kick off Eat the Rainbow, a fun, hands-on nutrition and produce program just for kids—designed to inspire healthy habits, adventurous eating, and community connection!
Starting Saturday, July 5th, and continuing each Saturday through the season, children who visit the Thomasville Farmers Market will receive:
🍎 A $3 produce voucher to spend on fresh fruits and veggies from our amazing local farmers
📖 A colorful Eat the Rainbow Passport packed with engaging challenges, food facts, and a spot to track their market adventures
🎨 Fun, weekly activities that encourage tasting new foods and learning how fruits and vegetables grow
This program is more than just shopping—it’s a way for kids to explore the farmers market, try new things, and understand where their food comes from in a supportive and exciting environment. Plus, it helps families stretch their food dollars while supporting local growers!
Let’s grow healthy habits together—one color at a time!
SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, is a USDA program that provides grocery-buying benefits to eligible children during the summer months when schools are out. In North Carolina, families can receive a one-time payment of $120 per eligible child on a debit-like card, which can be used to buy nutritious food at grocery stores, farmers markets, and some online retailers. The great news is, you use your EBT card like you usually would at the market! Visit SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) | Food and Nutrition Service for more information.

Bringing Fresh Food to Our Seniors:
Every Wednesday in July, the Thomasville Farmers Market proudly partners with the Thomasville Senior Services Center to connect local seniors with the freshest, healthiest food our community has to offer.
Through this ongoing collaboration, local farmers and vendors help ensure that seniors have access to seasonal produce—all in a friendly, welcoming environment that supports health and community connection.
This is also a great opportunity for seniors to use their Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) vouchers.
🥕 What is SFMNP?
The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides low-income older adults with coupons to purchase fresh, locally grown produce from vendors with the Thomasville Farmers Market.
The goal of the program is twofold:
1️⃣ Improve seniors’ access to healthy, nutritious foods
2️⃣ Support local agriculture and small farmers
By participating in this program, seniors can stretch their food dollars, enjoy healthy seasonal produce, and support the hardworking farmers right here in our region.
If you or someone you know is a senior interested in attending or participating, please contact the Thomasville Senior Services Center at
